Large Fowl Wyandottes are docile and calm natured birds making them ideal for an domestic environment. The hens are excellent broodies and make good mothers. Their attractive "curvy" shape, generally good disposition and many attractive colour patterns make them a good choice for fanciers as well as farmers. Pekins are laid back and easy to handle. They have feathered feet so they don't scratch and forage as much so do less damage to the garden. All feathered feet breeds they will require checking regularly and best kept on well draining ground or better suited in a covered run. They are marvellous, compact bantams and full of personality. Light Sussex is a very attractive medium sized traditional style white bird with black hackle feathers around the neck and on the tail. This is the hybrid version of the Light Sussex which lays smaller slightly darker eggs but more of them, than their pure bred version. The black hackle feathers are also not as well defined as the pure bred version.
